Third quarter

Well, that escalated quickly. Oklahoma just scored 21 unanswered points in 4:50 to tie Texas. What an embarrassment for the Longhorns, and what a game.
2:38 to play.

Kyler Murray ran 67 yards for a touchdown with 5:11 left. He’s lightning.
Quel design play de Lincoln Riley pour QB Kyler Murray qui transperce la défense des Longhorns sur le côté gauche. TD de 67 yards ! Boom ! Rien est joué !

Kyler Murray threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Lee Morris with 8:28 to play. Oklahoma needed that but still needs a lot more.
UT 45, OU 24
This might be a blowout. Sam Ehlinger found Lil’Jordan Humphrey for a 15-yard touchdown, Ehlinger’s fifth total touchdown of the day. UT has three touchdowns in four second-half series and has firm command, even though OU’s offense has averaged 12.1 yards per play since the break.

The Longhorns answer back with another Sam Ehlinger TD run, this one from 2 yards. That’s the Texas QB’s third rushing score of the afternoon.

A quick, necessary response for the Sooners: on the third play of their drive after falling back down by 14, Hollywood Brown caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Kyler Murray.

Game preview by James Brady
The No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners will play host to the No. 19 Texas Longhorns in one of the early matchups on Saturday, beginning at 12 p.m. ET on FOX (live streaming via FuboTV, FOX Sports GO). It will be yet another chapter in the Red River Rivalry, but one in which Oklahoma, undefeated at 5-0, is favored.
The Red River Rivalry is one of the oldest and most storied rivalries in all of sports. On the football field, Texas leads the all-time series, 61-46-5, with Oklahoma picking up a 29-24 victory in their last meeting a year ago. They also won the prior year, but Texas managed a win in 2015.
Oklahoma owns five wins, but they have yet to face a ranked opponent this season. Texas is one of three such opponents on the schedule this season. After a season-opening loss to Maryland, Texas righted the ship and scored big wins over then-No. 22 USC and then-No. 17 TCU. Most recently they went to the wire against Kansas State, but came out on top.

Texas vs. Oklahoma news
- The Red River Showdown has been in a bit of a slump, but as the folks at Burnt Orange Nation wrote, the hype has returned to the storied rivalry.
- You can also peep their primer on the rivalry and the upcoming game here.
- The top task for Texas is simple: slow down Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. That’s easier said than done, however.
- Richard Johnson took a look at Murray’s skills and what makes him so great right over here, and it’s more than worth a read.
- The Longhorns, after four consecutive wins, are sticking with the way things have been running thus far— they’re not looking to change things up going into their matchup with Oklahoma.
- Texas is getting healthier on the coaching staff — offensive coordinator Tim Beck is expected to return to the team on Monday.
- Despite winning their last game, the Sooners dropped one spot in the AP Poll this past week. They just hung 66 points on Baylor in a win.
- While Murray is the center of the Oklahoma offense, Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been able to use his legs to help the Longhorns’ running game.
Texas vs. Oklahoma prediction
In the latest S&P+ rankings, Oklahoma is worth 22.0 points, good for sixth in the nation and up two points from a week ago. Texas comes in at just 10.2 points, rising five spots over the past week. This would mean that Oklahoma would have an 11.8-point advantage on a neutral field. It’s a Texas home game, but Oklahoma remains the smart pick here.
