
Series begins in Houston on Friday, Oct. 5
The Houston Astros’ path for a second consecutive World Series win will begin with an American League Division Series battle against the Cleveland Indians starting Friday, Oct. 5 at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Houston has 100 wins for the second straight year, and are in the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons. The Astros clinched their second straight AL West title on Tuesday, outlasting the Wild Card-bound Oakland A’s in the division. Cleveland is back in the playoffs for a third straight season, winning the AL Central for the 10th time in their history.
The Astros won four of their seven games against the Indians during the regular season, all played over a 10-day span from May 18-28. The two teams split four games in Houston, and the Astros won two of three in Cleveland.
Houston will have home field advantage in the best-of-five series, which begins on Friday, Oct. 5 in Houston.
Each game of the AL Division Series will be televised by TBS, who will broadcast the entirety of the American League playoffs, through the ALCS.
