After putting together an heroic Game 3 World Series performance, Nathan Eovaldi is sticking around Fenway Park.

He was already an important part of the Red Sox’s playoff pitching rotation, but when Nathan Eovaldi stepped to the mound in the 12th inning of Game 3 in the World Series, the 28 year old became a New England folk hero.

Originally slated to start Game 4, Eovaldi came in for relief duty and put together a classic playoff performance: He threw 97 pitches in six innings, allowing just one earned run and three hits while striking out five batters. The Red Sox lost the game in the 18th inning on a walk-off home run, but it didn’t matter — Eovaldi had already cemented his status as a Red Sox playoff legend.

And now, “Nasty Nate” is officially returning to Boston

After briefly hitting the free-agent market, the right-hander has re-signed with the World Series champs on a four-year, $68 million deal.

To celebrate the signing, the Red Sox shared a “Nasty Nate” tribute video on Thursday.

So how should Red Sox fans enjoy the moment? How about a new T-shirt to add to your collection. Perhaps, your World Series rack, too?

During Boston’s World Series run, Eovaldi was lights out with a 1.61 ERA in 22 13 innings, including his incredible Game 3 performance.

And now, Nasty Nate isn’t going anywhere.
